Grey College first ever clash against the mighty Pretoria school Garsfontein also known as Garsies was in 2016 at the WIldeklawer Super Schools Rugby Festival held in Kimberley. Since then it became a regular clash that was later delayed by Global Corona Virus Pandemic during 2020-2021. The fixture between these two schools for 2022 was scheduled as interschools but was cancelled by Garsfontein.
