| The young Sharks scrumhalf was the joint top try scorer from the five South African franchises in Vodacom Super Rugby 2014, with six. Another one of the many promising young players to emerge in 2014, Cobus has Springbok rugby in his genes as his late father, Jaco, represented South Africa in rugby as well as track and field athletics, where he was the national 400m record-holder for some time. Cobus, who made his Test debut at Newlands in 2014, is lethal around the fringes and has a handy boot, which often puts the Sharks’ pack on the front foot.
